Description:

We are thrilled to introduce this exceptional Geisha Honey coffee from Finca La Roca, nestled in the highlands of Planadas, Tolima—one of the most promising regions we are focusing on.

About the Region:

Planadas is located in the Tolima department of Colombia, a region that was under guerrilla influence until the early 2000s. Despite its challenging history and remote location—accessible only after more than four hours on unpaved roads and crossing small rivers—the area holds incredible potential for producing high-quality coffee. Upon arriving, one is immediately captivated by the region’s natural beauty and the dedication of its young coffee producers.

About the Producer:

This coffee is produced by Jorge Elias, a passionate coffee grower in his 30s and the third generation in his family to cultivate coffee in Planadas. Jorge began producing specialty-grade coffee just four to five years ago, and his achievements are remarkable:

2022: In his first entry into the Cup of Excellence (COE), Jorge secured 3rd place with a Geisha Honey, the very coffee we are offering now.

2023: He achieved 24th place in the COE with another Geisha Honey, further igniting his passion for excellence in coffee production.

We have been collaborating closely with Jorge, conducting cupping sessions and exchanging ideas to fine-tune fermentation times and processes that cater to the Asian market. He is a valued partner, and we are committed to a long-term relationship with him.

About the Coffee:

This Geisha Honey coffee stands out for its:

Processing Method: Honey processing with 48 hours of anaerobic fermentation. This meticulous method enhances the coffee’s inherent sweetness and complexity.

Flavor Profile: Delicate floral notes of jasmine and bergamot, coupled with a bright citrus acidity and subtle hints of tropical fruits.

Quality: Grown at an altitude of 1,850 meters, the high elevation and Jorge’s expert processing unlock the full potential of the Geisha variety.

Future Generations:

Jorge’s dedication to coffee excellence extends to his family. His son recently placed 2nd in a kids’ cup tasters competition in Colombia. We look forward to the day when we can share coffees processed by the next generation of the Elias family.

Experience the Difference:

We take immense pride in bringing you this remarkable Geisha Honey coffee. The combination of Jorge’s expertise, the unique terroir of Planadas, and innovative processing techniques results in a cup that is both distinctive and memorable.
